Frappr Map

One of the problems encountered with recruit contacts that come into the www.nwtskirmisher.com website is that it is hard to direct them to a team in their geographic area without a lot of research into the rosters and the like. In order to overcome that difficulty it was suggested that a map be made showing the location of the various teams. This was extremely diffuclt to do until recently, but now that exact capability is available through a company called frappr.

The idea is basically like putting a map on the wall, and using push pins to locate where you have been.

Using the Map

You can zoom in on Michigan, Ohio, or Indiana, using the + and - signs.

You can drag the map to the place you want to view by using your mouse clikc the map and drag it to the the area you want to look at.

If you hit the "play" button, which is green, the map will cycle through the members of the map.

To Join the Map

1. Click on the orange button that says "join" in the corner of the map.

2. Choose Blue if you are on a Union team or Red for Confederate.

3. Enter your name (anonymous posts will not be plotted.)

4. Enter your city and zip. The map WILL plot your exact location IF you put in your exact street address. I would use only your city. Husband/Wife combos will have to enter both names on the same "pin" as the map track IP addresses for plotting purposes.

5. In the "shout out" section include your team name.

6. You can also upload photos of yourself to go on your pin.
